On 5 March, Nikolskaya Consulting partnered with Russian Women in Arbitration (RWA) to host preparatory rounds for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
Eight student teams participated, demonstrating excellent preparation, strong advocacy skills, and true teamwork. The participants had the opportunity to test their arguments under conditions closely mimicking the actual competition and to thoroughly review their performances with practicing specialists.
Coaches of Russian teams and lawyers from leading Russian law firms served as arbitrators for the rounds.
Results: 1st place – MGIMO 2nd place – HSE University 3rd place – Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL)
Arina Buryak (MGIMO) was named the Best Speaker overall. Special RWA awards for the best female speakers went to Arina Buryak (MGIMO), Natalia Agafonova (MGIMO), and Polina Kalugina (HSE Moscow).
Additionally, the top teams and speakers received exclusive Nikolskaya merch, which we custom-design each year to reflect the theme of the current moot problem.
